Café am Steintor in Bernau

We were here for breakfast and it was a very nice ambience, breakfast was also very nicely presented. Unfortunately the rolls weren't fresh.

Unfortunately, the website was not updated in the wake of the corona pandemic. So it can happen that you get information on the website and look forward to dishes that are listed there and then you are disappointed if these are not offered due to Corona. The fruit should be checked more often, whether it is really fresh ... We are a little disappointed, as we know better quality from Cafe am Steintor.

The food was good (Steintor breakfast), the staff was friendly - no problem here. The interior design is where you definitely have to spend some money. The benches for the upholstery and the dishes, every plate was chipped or chipped. You can see something like that straight away as a guest.

Last Thursday our traditional "beer drinker evening" should take place again, due to the nice weather and Corona not in the closed room, so it was decided: We drink our "Krombacher" here at the stone gate. There was only beer from the bottle, but it was filled in glasses with a capacity of 0.4 l, but we did not get the bottle, as is usual everywhere, but the glasses, as I said, 0.4 l, are at the counter filled. At our request it was explained that the remaining 0.1 l will be given to the next beer customer. And for € 3.80 - an absolute NO GO, we found. Another beer would have been out of the question anyway, because the otherwise appealing location closes at 6 p.m. It's actually a shame that such practices are used in such a difficult time in the catering industry, isn't it necessary?

The way is worth it ... you sit very relaxed next to a small fountain with a view of the great stone gate. The whole place is quiet, no cars. Almost like vacation. The staff is very friendly and spread a good mood. The food tastes good and the homemade cakes are particularly recommended. In short: a nice destination for the stressed captain ... the way is worth it.

The breakfast was unfortunately very disappointing. The meat was dry, the waffle sticky, butter was only brought on request and the horseradish was unfortunately all. The waitress looked bored and little interested in good service. Too bad, but that was the last time for us.

The first burger was not very well received, but after that the boss came and brought the same order again. Tastes great and thanks for the compensation. In any case, I will order more often if quality remains yours. 👍

Were as a family outing before Corona for a cozy get-together in the Cafe am steintor. It's conveniently located, of course, but as someone else wrote, the lighting was too dark for us. The food was illuminating and of good quality. Good but expandable.

First - very good location - good facilities - nice staff! Very good card - civilian prices. On a spicy meat - appetizer! And a baked potato !!! we had to spend 35 minutes patience !!! There were only 2 tables occupied outside - how to wait ??? when it is really full and you order a main course ??? The whole then possibly with 6 people !!! We will definitely not stop there.

2nd evaluation Even on uncomfortable winter days you sit inside comfortably and let it go well from the friendly staff On summer days there is no more idyllic and historic place in Bernau like the Cafe am Steintor. Here you can relax on the cozy outdoor terrace and enjoy ice cream, drinks and u. U. use the menu. By the way, EVERY SUNDAY is brunch now. Friendly staff. Price structure normal. P you have to search a little, but a small walk on the city wall is indeed feasible. Deceleration pure !!

Tolle Location

This was the café I went to the other day. The location is very nicely picked and they have an outdoor area with a sofa and a coffee table with all the old buildings and the old city wall around you. It's gorgeous and the same can be said about the decoration of the interior. It looks great and fits the old-ish theme of Bernau. In my opinion the price was a little too high but when taking the location into consideration I guess it's reasonable. I remember the staff to being very friendly. 4/5
